Before The World Began

In II Timothy 1:9 we read where God, "Hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ before the world began."

In Ephesians 1:4 the saved are said to be "Chosen in Him (Christ) before the foundation of the world." Then in verse five they are said to be, "Predestinated unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of His will."

These and other verses teach us that God has chosen out a people for Himself, purposed to call them out of the darkness of sin, and predestinated (marked out before hand) them to be His children, all before the world ever began.

Some who are at least honest enough to admit that the Bible teaches something about election, say that God looked down through time to see who would believe in him; but that can not be, for it says plainly that this choice was "not according to our works" but "according to His good pleasure".

Men do not believe on Christ in order to be chosen, they believe because they were chosen.

Modern theology hates this because man does not share in the glory, but he deserves none of the glory; it all rightly belongs to God! Salvation is of the Lord!
