Let Jesus Come Into Your Heart

Think about that statement. Is it not rather audacious? But it expresses well the sentiment of modern religion.

Jesus, the creator God, is presented as one who wants the sinner to let Him come in.

Oh, He is so wanting the sinner to be saved and is ever so willing to do so, but He can’t unless He is given permission. Poor Jesus is standing out in the cold knocking at the door of the sinner’s heart (by the way, that verse in Revelation 3:20 is addressed to believers), but He isn’t allowed in.

WHAT? Does not the Scripture say that the Spirit quickens (makes spiritually alive) whom He wills (John 3:8, 6:63)? Who struck down whom on the road to Damascus (Acts 9)?

Since when did God need man’s cooperation to do His sovereign, eternal will (Isaiah 40, Romans 9, Job 38-42)?

Ah, the utter audacity of modern religionists who would make God the beggar at man’s door. Jesus said, "All that the Father gives to me SHALL come to me" (John 6:37). He also said, "My sheep hear My voice, and they follow Me, and I give unto THEM eternal life" (John 10:27-28).

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

John 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
