No Respecter Of Persons

In Romans 2:11 we read that, "There is no respect of persons with God." What does he mean by that phrase?

Well, it literally means that God regards no man’s face. That is, He does not deal with men on the basis of human, ethnic, or racial characteristics.

In this passage, as well as in the other four passages of Scripture where this exact phrase is used, the Apostle Paul is declaring that God’s righteous anger at sin is not only toward the Gentiles, but the Jews as well—He is no respecter of
persons.

This phrase also tells us that the salvation of God was not only for Jews, but for Gentiles as well.

So, the Bible declares that God has a people among all classes, nations, races, and languages. As a matter of fact, Jesus says of His second coming that He will gather His elect from the four winds, or from all over the earth (Mark 13:27).

History shows us that indeed, God is not a respecter of persons, for among His elect throughout the course of time one can find every imaginable kind of people.

God’s choice of a people, then is not based upon human characteristics, works, or any other facet of man’s being, but alone on His sovereign and free grace (II Timothy 1:9)!

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Isaiah 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
